Garonga on TripAdvisor

Three of us stayed at Garonga for 3 nights in two 'tents'. Tents is not really accurate - they are luxury rooms with a canvas roof. It is a mesmerising place. We were waited on hand and foot by dedicated and enthusiastic staff. The food was really excellent and the service was absolutely exceptional. The views from the 'tents' the veranda and the pool are just incredible.

We had a fantastic driver and tracker (Josia and Richard) whose enthusiasm for finding the animals never waned. They entertained and looked after us with immense care and humour. We had a fabulous time. The whole place was an amazing experience.

Stayed January 2016, travelled with friends

Garonga is overwhelmingly beautiful. The accommodation is spa-like elegance with every attention to detail. The resort is small so the service is personalized. The staff and guides/trackers ensure all your needs are met.

The exclusive (but far from snooty :)) atmosphere gives you the opportunity to meet and share meals with the other guests if you choose but offers privacy if preferred. Ask to book the bush bath and treehouse sleep out. Both are included. We would return in a heartbeat.

This place is incredible. The tents are outstanding, very spacious, well equipped and the fact that there are only 6 of them means they take amazing care of you. The views over a watering hole were also a winner.

The staff, are genuinely the most attentive that I have ever seen. They are friendly, polite and try to get to know you while maintaining a respectful and professional distance to allow you to enjoy privacy. The safari team were unbelievable and made each drive special. These guys are amazing at what they do and they could not have been more friendly. We saw the Big 5 and the guides made sure we saw all we could.

The food...simply excellent. The mixture of private meals and group dinners was a great way of getting guests to interact, while also ensuring that the honeymoon element was always there.

Add in a great option to have a private picnic up a tree, a bath in the outdoors and a simple yet well equipped spa and the balance of relaxation and activity is perfect.

We stayed 4 nights as part of our honeymoon and if we ever come back we would likely stay here again as the standard and experience was such that I would be unlikely to risk going elsewhere.

Totally "in awe" with the newly revamped Garonga!

Luxurious tented rooms, spacious both inside and outside - what beautiful decks. Amazing bathrooms and oh the outdoor shower.
The staff are so friendly and attentive to one's needs, and the food outstanding.

And then of course the game drives....pride of lions, white rhino's, wild dogs, hyena's and plains game all in 1 game drive how fantastic, thank you Josia. My only complaint my trip was way too short. I will be back.

The best kept secret just outside of Kruger. This camp has just been revamped and looks great!

Super friendly staff and hosts who made our safari and stay as memorable as possible. Honestly - whoever wants to brunch together with Elephants in the morning - just book your stay here.

Super spacious tents with STUNNING views over the dry river bed. If you stay at little Garonga you might not have a perfect view over the river bed but instead you will have a massive suite all to yourself as well as a private chef and butlers. True 5 star service levels!!

Had a fantastic time at the newly revamped Garonga camp. Lovely hospitality from all the staff including the owner Berny, and manager Rina, as well as our guide Josia and tracker Richard.

We were very lucky to have room 1 which has the best view of the water hole and saw Zebra, wart hog , antelope and elephant in camp before we even went on a game drive. Saw leopard within the first half hour of our first game drive.

Lovely atmosphere in the camp with good food and friendly interaction with others staying there. A must visit location .
